Ages 3+

Ballet

Ballet is the largest part of the school and the class most children start with. We follow the Royal Academy of Dance syllabus from pre-primary through to Grade 7 and pointework, and Angela teaches almost all of it.

The RAD syllabus is graded, so a child moves up a grade roughly once a year as they are ready rather than automatically with their age. That means a class is never a mix of complete beginners and children who have been dancing for five years.

Exams

Exams are optional. Pupils who take them are entered when Angela thinks they are ready, not before. Every pupil who sat RAD ballet exams in our last session achieved high merit or distinction.

What to wear for a first class

Nothing special. Leggings or shorts and bare feet are fine for a trial. If your child carries on, we will tell you what to get and where from, and there is no rush.

  • Hardman Hall, Wednesdays, Grades 1 and 4
